In lieu of trying to belong to any number of societies: Chesterton, Sherlock Holmes, the Inklings, and so on: I propose and establish one of my own. Don your intelligence cap at the door; dust off your logic and imagination; did you bring your inspiration and encouragement? We are shapers, my friends; lit lamps; light-bringers. Bring quotes; poetry should be uplifting and thoughtful, or witty and clever, (or both). Humor is encouraged; laughter is invited back. Pull up a chair. Anyone for tea?

A Gallery

And I do mean gallery. I hope the people who said they wanted to see pictures actually do, because I have a plethora of them. This being a new house and all, and the decor being fresh, it is a delight to the photographer, be they only an amateur. I dearly hope you enjoy perusing (a great many) corners of our house, if you have time. A happy Thursday evening to you!

My Bedroom:

Southern light

things are still in progress, so there are piles. . .
A shelf near the floor for books-and-things~

It was Jules Verne's birthday a few days ago. . .
And this is just to show that we are still very much in the unpacking stage. . .
Comfort among the detritus for future relaxation
"If you're feeling fifteen shades of blue...." (from a Mel Torme song)
My room is definitely fifteen (or possibly fifty) shades of blue, which I love. When done right, blue doesn't make me blue at all.
Lots of warm layers on here for chilly nights~
and a couple of my views
Isn't that happy?

That globe makes me inordinately happy. . .

The Kitchen:

tidy colors
kitchen shelf
on the refrigerator
above the cupboards
the Hoosier corner
Our stacks to disperse
... forever friends
The Livingroom:

~Rejoice in the Lord always~
~In everything give thanks~

~Pray without ceasing~

Happy, happy pictures! I love them all. I love looking at them and things catch my eye that I remember from the "farm house" and think how wonderful it is that you can make this beautiful house into a cozy home just as the other one was! (In the same town as me!!!! :D)

P.S. ~ The color of your room is so wonderful! I never did actually get to see the color for your room before. I'm so glad you posted pictures! :)
