In lieu of trying to belong to any number of societies: Chesterton, Sherlock Holmes, the Inklings, and so on: I propose and establish one of my own. Don your intelligence cap at the door; dust off your logic and imagination; did you bring your inspiration and encouragement? We are shapers, my friends; lit lamps; light-bringers. Bring quotes; poetry should be uplifting and thoughtful, or witty and clever, (or both). Humor is encouraged; laughter is invited back. Pull up a chair. Anyone for tea?

Welcome to Our World

Tears are falling, hearts are breaking
How we need to hear from God
You've been promised, we've been waiting
Welcome holy child
Welcome holy child

Hope that you don't mind our manger
How I wish we would have known
But long awaited, holy stranger
Make yourself at home,
Please make yourself at home

Bring your peace into our violence
Bid our hungry souls be filled
We're now breaking heaven's silence
Welcome to our world,
Welcome to our world

Fragile finger sent to heal us
Tender brow prepared for thorns
Tiny heart, whose blood will save us
Unto us is born
Unto us is born

So wrap our injured flesh around you
Breathe our air and walk our sod
Rob our sin and make us holy
Perfect son of God
Perfect son of God
Welcome to our world

Beautiful words. Deeply penetrating heart felt words. Thankyou Holy One,for choosing to birth your Son into our dark world. To bring us Your Light, and to bring us Your Life. May our hearts shine forth Your light to thoes who are still crouching in darkness and despair. Oh Hope of the world, may we bring Your hope to thoes who need it most. May the coming of Your Son be forever imprinted, foremost in our hearts,as a reminder of love, so pure,so Divine,of Hope to free us from all our fears, doubts, self, and darkness, and of Your life,so freely ,humbly given,so that we might live.
