In lieu of trying to belong to any number of societies: Chesterton, Sherlock Holmes, the Inklings, and so on: I propose and establish one of my own. Don your intelligence cap at the door; dust off your logic and imagination; did you bring your inspiration and encouragement? We are shapers, my friends; lit lamps; light-bringers. Bring quotes; poetry should be uplifting and thoughtful, or witty and clever, (or both). Humor is encouraged; laughter is invited back. Pull up a chair. Anyone for tea?

"Before"

Not sure when the "Afters" will come, but I promise they will.

I am off and spinning my friends! I have a key to my beautiful home, and I have a job! Yesterday was crazy busy, full of good things: conversations, hugs, truths, questions, cleaning, sweat. And plenty of driving. I need to get back into doing yoga every single day so that I am less prone to such kinks in my back and shoulders. I was able to tramp around my new house taking pictures and measuring things, dusting and cleaning here and there. I got to talk to the refrigerator and stove delivery guy, and help one of my roommates move some of her stuff. And I took my first shower in our bathroom to clean up a bit for my interview. (Of course I couldn't figure out how to make the water not come out scalding hot, but that mystery was for another time.)
I also introduced the space to a few random songs that were on my phone: "We Will Feast in the House of Zion" by Sandra McCracken, "No Crew Is Superior" by LL Cool J, "Up All Night" by Owl City, and a few selections of Glenn Miller, and of dubstep.

Hooray! It's so lovely. Happy homemaking to you! (I was going to say yesterday... Surely the yoga mat comes on the next trip? ;))

Yes indeed! It needs a sweep and maybe a mop and then -- yoga mat, the staple of the unkinked and more relaxed (not to mention fitter) life. ;)
